Charles “Chuck” Saunders, MD, is Chief Clinical Transformation Officer and President of Value-Based Care Enablement at Lumeris, where he brings decades of experience at the intersection of healthcare, technology and business to advance new models of care and drive clinical transformation.
Prior to Lumeris, Chuck served as CEO of Integra Connect, a cloud-based precision medicine and value-based specialty care technology company, where he led the growth of its technology platform supporting specialty practices in value-based care.
Throughout his career, Chuck has led healthcare organizations through periods of innovation and transformation. He previously served as CEO of Healthagen, an Aetna company focused on population health technology and services, and CEO of Broadlane, a healthcare supply chain technology company. He also served as President of EDS Healthcare Global Industry Group and Chief Medical Officer of Healtheon/WebMD.
Chuck is dual boarded in Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine and has served on the faculty at Vanderbilt and UCSF, where conducted health systems research, worked as an Emergency Physician, headed up EMS Services for the City and County of San Francisco, and lead the creation of Managed (Capitated) Medi-Cal for the San Francisco Department of Public Health and San Francisco General Hospital.
He earned his MD from Johns Hopkins University and a BS in Biology from the University of Southern California.
