Lumeris Appoints New Managing Principal

St. Louis — AUGUST 24, 2016 –  Lumeris, a pioneer in population health management solutions headquartered in St. Louis, is pleased to announce the appointment of Bob Vernon as managing principal.

In his leadership role, Vernon is focused on provider strategy development and value-based care transformation. He works with clients and prospective partners in understanding and assessing their market environment and existing capabilities for population health management. He then applies Lumeris’ proven playbook to enable them to make a successful transition from fee-for-serve to value-based care delivery. Vernon, a 30-year veteran of the healthcare industry, reports to Dr. Gaurov Dayal, senior vice president of health systems and strategy.

“Bob is a seasoned executive with a deep understanding of healthcare provider organizations and markets,” said Dr. Dayal. “Bob’s hire will add to the business development and advisory expertise of Lumeris and further our ability to successfully transition healthcare systems to value-based care.”

Prior to joining Lumeris, Vernon served in a variety of positions where he led the formation of more than 20 new healthcare ventures that resulted in alliances among providers, and between major payer and provider organizations. He has most recently provided independent consulting and interim management services, has served as an executive partner at Crimson, A Division of the Advisory Board Company and senior director of clinical integration at Southwind, A Division of The Advisory Board Company. He has also held leadership roles at Vivius, VHA Consulting Services, Aon Risk Services, Trigon Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Virginia and Healthcare Venture Associates.

“Lumeris is a leader in the industry and is uniquely positioned to transform the way physicians, hospital systems and payers relate,” Vernon said. “I look forward to driving change in an evolving market with the most accomplished professionals and the leading operational capabilities in the business.”

Vernon has a degree in English from Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, Pa., and a master’s degree from Boston University. He and his wife reside in Roanoke, Va., and actively volunteer for several community, religious and philanthropic organizations.
