In the move to value-based care, healthcare organizations must develop and acquire new skills in order to succeed in managing populations. In a survey of 22 health systems by Lumeris and The Health Management Academy, participants rated their strengths and challenges with respect to delivering value-based care (infographic below).
While over 50% of respondents mentioned that they see contracting, physician alignment, and developing networks as strengths, they also cited data and care management as key challenges. Providers must develop new operational capabilities (not traditionally held by these organizations) in order to deliver low cost, high quality care. Consider a partner that has the proven methodologies and programs to accelerate the transition and enable faster success.
